Comments: I live only five miles from the Chickamauga battlefield where General John Bell Hood suffered the injury that cost him his leg. Although many people have criticized him for some of his tactics, I hope that if I ever find the time to trace my roots, that I am somehow related to this brave man.

Comments: This is a great website; I am researching John Bell Hood for my Fiance's family, which are from the Hood Bloodline. However, I cannot find how the Hood family moved to Missouri. Would like more information if possible. Thanks for all of your hard work!

Comments: Wonderful information here honoring General John Bell Hood. Many years ago my first duty station was at Fort Hood, and my parents reminded me for whom that fort is named.

Comments: love this website. John Bell Hood is my ancestor. i found out a lot of information.
Comments: Great website; I wish I could have included more famous generals like him and had them survive in my book "Brotherhood and BAseball," about a Civil War endign 18 months early after a Union win at Chancellorsville. Gen. Hood would have been a great addition.
